Family Impact is a fellowship of Christian movements in 10 countries across Africa united by our common vision to build families and transform communities. Family Impact was pioneered by David and Janet Cunningham and Thomas and Hellen Malande Lukakha in 2002. We have staff and offices in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Uganda and South Africa and we partner with organizations in Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania, Zambia and Burundi.

These member movements carry out different front line activities such as Enjoy Your Marriage and Parenting seminars in churches and communities, Life skills and Leadership training in schools and Freedom Unlimited which is an HIV prevention Life skills course targeting men in the workplace. In addition, we make it a priority to research and pioneer new initiatives in family ministry and to provide training and capacity building. We do not plan on becoming a big organization doing the work of the local church or on running institutions like orphanages.

Family Impact is a grassroots and networking movement. We are not a lone ranger. We both implement our programmes at ground level and partner with schools, churches, local and international organizations to facilitate the use of our locally developed resources to see lasting behavior change and an end to the spread of HIV and AIDS. As an organization we encourage our members to partner and to work with other organizations. We have many partners, which vary by country, but include World Vision, DFID (Department for International Development UK), UNICEF, many church denominations, SIDA, OIKONOMOS, Tear Netherlands, Tearfund UK, Tear Australia, as well as local governments and ministries.
